Brief Information: 

HP Specific Research & Development Project 2023-24

Department of Environment, Science & Technology (DEST) hereby invite proposals under “HP Specific Research & Development Project 2023-24” (up to Rs.10 Lakh for a total period of 2 years) to strengthen research and development in various fields of Environment, Climate Change and Biotechnology in the State of Himachal Pradesh. Proposals are invited from Scientists and Technical experts, Engineers working in the academic sector, National labs and other recognised R&D institutions in H.P. on following sub-thematic areas under two major thematic areas:

Thematic Area I: Environment, Climate Change & Natural Resource Management

Sub-themes:-

  • Impact of Hydro-Power Projects on Environment in H.P. specifying minimum ecological flow of river streams.
  • Solid Waste Management with special emphasis on disposal of polythene/ non-biodegradable waste management in H.P.
  • Impact of Environmental Pollution viz; Water, Air, Soil on Human Health and remedial measures.
  • Climate Change Adaptation in Agriculture, Horticulture, Water sector in Himachal Pradesh.
  • Climate Change and Health Impacts with special emphasis on adaptive measures in H.P.
  • Problems of Environmental Pollution in industrial areas of H.P.- Remedial measures.
  • Strengthening of Institutional laboratories of academic institutions through calibration of equipments for accuracy in research.
  • Health & Environment.

Thematic Area II: Biotechnology

Sub-themes:-

  • Livelihood promotion through biotechnology based enterprise in Rural Areas.
  • Development of crop varieties for disease resistance in Himachal Pradesh using biotechnology.

Last date of receipt of proposals: 31st August 2023 up to 5:00 PM

Note:-

Principal Investigators & Co-Principal Investigators who have been sanctioned projects in 2021-22 & 2022-23 would not be eligible to apply again.

Only one best project proposal is to be submitted by (PI & Co-PI) in any of the thematic areas.

Multiple proposals from same PI & Co-PI will not be entertained.
